About this movie

A one-night stand that becomes something more - an unconventional love story between two young men trying to make sense of their lives. On a Friday night after hanging out with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a nightclub, alone and on the pull. Just before closing time he picks up Glen. And so begins a weekend - in bars and in bedrooms, getting drunk and taking drugs, telling stories and having sex that will resonate throughout their lives.

Was thinking the views out of the flat windows were a bit familiar, then I realized why when I saw an outside shot its my old flat in Manvers Court Sneinton Nottingham. Even noticed the cracked tiles in the corner by the kitchen window which the council bodged I was livid cause I hate things that are lopsided or squeewif! One of my pet hates. Loved the film!

A really lovely film about 2 gay guys being normal gay guys. Even a decade later it still feels rare that we see queer films where the storyline isn't necessarily about *being* gay or coming out or HIV and AIDS, yet are still something specific to the queer experience. I've been meaning to watch this film for the whole decade since it was released and I'm glad I finally have; an instant favourite.
