About this movie

The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, an unlikely set of heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their families, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something. (Original Title - Warcraft) - 2016 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.

Yet another example of trying to cram too much into one movie. Not only that I think they did the lore disservice by some of the choices. The casting choices apart from Toby Kebbell were all wrong. The script felt way too forced and it's a shame because Duncan Jones is such a good director. I think there was a lot of interference as well whether it be from the studios or from Blizzard but it felt like there were a lot of cooks in this kitchen.

Warcraft is good as a 'movie to turn your brain off'. It doesn't do too much in the way of explaining anything (that bit was a mess). If you really want to understand the plot just watch or read any lore regarding how the orcs came to Azeroth. Orc fights are great to watch and well animated. I'd recommend for anyone just looking for a a good vs evil movie with some great fight scenes. Hopefully the sequel clears up the issues with this one.

A film that really is about the name, and unhelpfully eschews any semblance of script or detail. Yes it is vaguely based on the story (rewritten) about the game warcraft 1. We say rewritten as this doesn't actually conform with the original game's printed material, so super fans take note. In terms of acting the actors look bored, lines are delivered with the same charisma as an undertaker. The cgi is everywhere and unfortunately this was used to poor effect, especially armor. 1/5 plz don't.
