This is one of those remakes that should never have been made. The original film was so much better. All technology is down and they Tom just so happens to know how to make a car work. He drives through towns with not a car in sight. Then suddenly the army drive past. So only he and the the entire army can make their cars work. And this was only a small part of the complete hash job the great HG Wells would be dissapointed with. Don't waste your time.

This is a good movie and the sound the alien machines make gives me the creeps. But the one thing that gets in my nerves and I really do find annoying is the daughter screaming every 5 seconds and she can not do what she as been told like stay in one spot or shut up. That's the reason for the 3 stars. If that annoying girl wasn't in it or wrote differently I would give this film a 4 or 5 star rating.

There's a review on here by Steven Willetts. Ignore it as it is incorrect. The reason Tom Cruise has a working car is explained clearly and believably. The military have working vehicles...wow, go figure, the U.S. military have the parts and know how to get their kit working again. One thing I hate more than bad movies are "reviews" made by cretins who clearly haven't the mental capacity to follow a simple plot line. I bet he loves the new Star Wars film lol, nuff said.
