About this movie

Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL'S greatest and most complex characters. In search of his next big story, journalist Eddie Brock lands an exclusive interview with convicted murderer and death row inmate Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), who discovers Eddie's secret and becomes the host for Carnage, a menacing and terrifying symbiote.

The Multi-verse is a crazy place indeed, I can support a Mild mannered Eddie Brock that has the big heart, cute love interest, obvious to any dude named "Spider-man"....as yet, still sorta weird but I sorta like this Non-Evil Eddie/Symbiote version of Venom. As opposed to the comic version (LOATHE the Topher Grace take...*Cringe*) where he gains an earlier disdain for one Pete Parker. This Venom is a Human hero, augmented with a awesome buddy who just makes it fun.... Then they decided to ask Woodie H to play Carnage, I was sort of excited. It seemed like a neat idea. NOPE..... I love him as an actor, but all he did was channel Micky from Natural Born Killers and turned him into a lovesick PG rated CHUMP..... To be fair, a character like Carnage needs an "R" rated movie to expand appropriately. He is a Sadist, a Psycho, and he was aimed at an older aging demographic in the 90s.

If i did not know how badly the original story and characters were butchered this may have been something I could mindlessly enjoy for the decent effects and whatnot. Unfortunately I do know... it made this film nothing short of a painful joke for me. Carnage was/is one of the most memorable villains in the marvel universe. Massive losses were seen in both civilian lives and that of super heroes. Collaborations between many different hero types, including both spider man and venom, was required to bring him down in the end and it was one hell of a battle. This movie did not do him justice and would have been better not being made at all.

Being as brief as possible, this is not a good movie. It took the one half decent element of the first one, that being Eddie and Venoms banter between each other and tripled down on it in the dumbest ways possible. Fans of Carnage won't like it, fans of Venom shouldn't like it, and fans of some form of intelligent thought in their movies shouldn't like it. This movie might have been written by a bot.
