Underworld: Blood Wars

Faster and more intimate after the slower paced Underworld: Awakening (2012). Director Anna Foerster shows a great talent for character motivation and intimacy while retaining the series' style and executing the action scenes with a brutal efficiency. Kate Beckinsale (Selene) is the standout here and is sexier, wiser and in fuller bloom than ever before.

This isn't a bad film. It's enjoyable for what it is - a B Movie. There's enough in it to keep you interested until the end courtesy of a couple of plot twists that you may see coming. A solid fifth entry in a franchise that is pretty decent as a whole.

If you have come this far.... Its safe to assume you have already mastered the art of leaving your brain at the door and just enjoy a bit of escapism. No change here. Doesn't stand up to scrutiny but a fun watch in a pretty cool world that has been built over the course of the franchise.
