About this movie

Kate Beckinsale stars in Underworld, a stylish, suspenseful action thriller that depicts a world populated by a secretive clan of modern, sophisticated Vampires whose mortal enemies are the Lycans (werewolves), a shrewd gang of street toughs. Selene (Beckinsale), a beautiful Vampire warrior with the strength of ten men, is a death dealer, assigned to hunt down and eradicate the wolf-people. But the balance of power is upset when she falls in love with the nascent Lycan she's been tracking, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman). When she figures out that he holds the key to ending the centuries-old war, Selene must decide where her allegiances lie. Len Wiseman directs this fast-paced tale of deadly action, ruthless intrigue and forbidden love. 2003 Subterranean Productions LLC. All Rights Reserved.

A fantastic movie with a great storyline. I love how they were able to stay true to the characteristics of Vampires and Werewolves and even improve them. The aristocratic lifestyle and the wicked tastes of Vampires. The barbaric lifestyle and the surprising abilities of Werewolves (like being able to transform at will and actually being well mannered at least compared to the conventional Werewolf). And the Romeo/Juliet love that creates a Hybrid of both species. A must have for Vampire/Werewolf lovers.

Mindless action. Kate Beckinsale in skintight spandex. Muscle heads and all things that go bump in the supernatural night. Grab some popcorn and let your mind wander. Bill Nighy made this watchable for me, even if it was one of his least favorable roles.

Great origin story of Sith to Jedi but with a vampire heroine and no light sabers. But the weapons are right up there.
