Underwater

Solid 4 star, nothing too great but a well built movie. As most negative reviews state there isn't major character development however given the movie takes place over the course of a few hours it is rather fair to say that there isn't much room Positively it managed to capture some of the alienating essence of Alien, but added further dread as it seems that our protagonists are the ones alienated. SPOILERS! I enjoy the adaptation of Cthulhu or at least what must be a star spawn, however I don't feel they captured the unearthly essence and instead went a more "clash of the titans" kraken approach. The design for the servants/deep ones was brilliant and alien but Cthulhu was lacking. Would've loved the film if the end hadn't slightly let me down with a disappointing name drop and adaptation in design. Still a good movie but not one to capture the true Cthulhu essence.

Brilliant. Finally a scifi survival movie where the characters aren't all personality disordered aholes who never would have passed a psych test to work in space or, in this case, in a deep sea station. It was great to actually be rooting for all the characters instead of wishing for half of them to be dead already because of what aholes they are. Well written, great filming, great story and suspense.

I had seen negative reviews but felt they weren't warranted. Its a great movie! action packed from the start. Im not. Kristen Stewart fan but feel this type of character is better suited for her.
