About this movie

Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo and Wesley Snipes star in this hilarious adventure about three transvestites on the cross-country road trip of a lifetime. On their way to Hollywood for a drag queen beauty pageant, Vida (Patrick Swayze), Chi Chi (John Leguizamo) and Noxeema (Wesley Snipes) get stranded in the tiny Midwestern town of Snydersville. Determined to make the best of a bad situation, the "girls" set out to repair the broken hearts, broken dreams and broken nails of the small-town residents during one wildly outrageous weekend. This is a remake of the Australian film "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" with quite the surprising cast of three straight men playing drag queens! Not true to original story, but absolutely worth seeing for the stars: Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo are the leads, with Stockard Channing and several other amazing actors. Even a cameo by Robin Williams! It's a story of hopes and dreams, acceptance and love. Light, with some deep parts and lots of laughs.

I live for this movie. It's an iconic movie, with the most unusual, but the BEST AND ONLY CAST YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR, in a series of events leading up to the comeback of a lifetime. It's a solid movie for adults, but there are some suggestive themes, and parents should check out the plot before watching with the kids. Most probably aren't going to mind MOST of the subjects discussed, but there are a few scenes some might find upsetting or uncomfortable.
