About this movie

TIMELINE tells the story of a professor (Connolly) who inadvertently catapults himself back to 14th-century France, in the middle of the 100 Years War, through the use of an untested time-travel machine. The clock is ticking as his son and colleagues must brave the same treacherous journey to retrieve the professor before he's lost to history forever.

I could barely watch the movie to its end. The cast did not fit the characters in the book, except perhaps Lady Claire. Think of a bunch of wimpy metrosexuals playing the parts. Everyone has their hair combed and preened, clothes are clean and fresh, the men are pencil-armed. In the book, Marek is a brute, capable of winning a joust. In this, he is a Scottish dandy. I understand the movie almost always falls short of the book, but this one is really poor. It was obviously made quick and dirty for a buck, and that's it.

A fun moment at the end cannot make up for this boring and forgettable time travel actioner. Richard Donner had fallen quite a bit since Lethal Weapon 2

The book had a great deal of interesting information on quantum mechanics that was completely removed for the movie, so the time travelling idea doesn't make much sense here. Other then that, the movie was very well done and is alot of fun to watch.
