I love all of the MCU films but for me this has to be the stand-out one. I love the tongue-in-cheek madness of it all. It works on so many levels, with the cast obviously having a blast. The best performance is from Chris Hemsworth, closely followed by Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo. This 3rd movie in the Thor series is a world away from Thor: The Dark World which took itself a little too seriously. It would be great to have more of the MCU that can poke gentle fun of itself from time to time.

DIRE! Do not buy/rent this film if you are hoping for something along the lines of the first two excellent films in the THOR line or indeed the Avengers assemble series. This plays like a 'parody' almost 'Monty Python' I cringed throughout and was bitterly disappointed. Sorry to have watched it and had to restore my faith by watching the previous two films in the series again. Hopefully a sequel will be made to try and erase the memory of this awful film. One to be forgotten-and quickly! (Oh and Thor should have Long Hair!!)

This movie doesn't work, there seems to be a desire to merge the Thor movies into the vibe of Guardians of the Galaxy. However, this change from the last installment to this is truly unfortunate. The handling of the comedic elements is heavy handed and that negates from the more dramatic moments. There are too many gag roles and it spoils what might have been a more interesting feature. The score for the movie was nice and added value to the film, the performances of Thor, Loki, Heimdall and Hela (and the appearance of Dr Strange) were solid. In terms of the Marvel movies Thor Ragnarok stands alongside Ant-Man and Dr Strange. They are ok, worth a watch but not of the same calibre as GOTG or Winter Soldier.
