About this movie

The epic adventure THOR spans the Marvel universe from present-day Earth to the cosmic realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As a result, Thor is banished to Earth where he is forced to live among humans. When the most dangerous villain of his world sends its darkest forces to invade Earth, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero.

What I love about this movie is all the Shakespearean drama happening on Asgard with the complicated relationship Thor shares with his family, which obviously Kenneth Branagh revels in. Unfortunately the majority of the film is set on Earth, where Thor shares an unconvincing romance with Jane Foster. Natalie Portman puts on her Star Wars prequels mask for this series, delivering a very bored looking, wooden performance. Everyone else on the other hand is perfectly cast, even if Thor drops into an Aussie accent occasionally. Not the strongest or weakest in the Marvel Franchise, but very serviceable.

Kind of boring compared to the rest of the Avengers movies. Its seems to take a long time to really get going and by then the movie is nearly over. However it's still a brilliant movie that's wonderfully done.
