About this movie

Somebody said get a life...so they did. In Ridley Scott's adventurous road picture, two friends--unhappy housewife Thelma (Geena Davis) and strong-willed waitress Louise (Susan Sarandon)--leave responsibilities behind to take a weekend fishing trip in the mountains in their 1966 T-bird convertible. But...at a roadside honky-tonk, where they stop to "blow off steam," a man tries to rape Thelma. Louise reacts by shooting the creep with a .38, and this action turns them into dazed and confused fugitives. Now the subject of a nationwide hunt, they regain their determination and recklessness. The film concludes at the Grand Canyon with an indelible image of their final declaration of freedom.

Love, love, love, i could watch this movie another 50 times and still enjoy it. I have come up with a sequel to this that makes perfect sense where thema and louise jump out before the car hits and they swim down the river and make it mexico and start a bar on the beach. Tell me i didnt get into the movie.. heehee, loved it...

I watched this movie once years ago and I hated it. Not because the movie focuses on feminism. But because the movie feels misogynistic. It's really about two women who lose reason so they go on a stupid and easily avoidable crime spree and pretty much declare their own little war on men.

A must-see movie for anyone. I can't believe it is more than 25 years old, as it's perhaps more relevant now than it was when it was released.
