About this movie

In 1939 Poland, Antonina Żabińska (two-time Academy Award® nominee Jessica Chastain) and her husband successfully run the Warsaw Zoo and raise their family in an idyllic existence. Their world is overturned, however, when the country is invaded by the Nazis and they are forced to report to the Reich's newly appointed zoologist (Daniel Brühl). To fight back on their own terms, the Żabińskis risk everything by covertly working with the Resistance and using the zoo's hidden tunnels and cages to save families from Nazi brutality. - ( Original Title - The Zookeeper's Wife )

Focus was mainly on wars effects on zoo, keeper fam, frenz, loyal wrkrs & fam bond that gave all strength 2 C them thru atrocities happening outside zoo grounds. Good acting, liked focus didn't touch actual Nazi camp images for once.

This movie deserves more attention than it received. A truly beautiful story with a the cast of actors and actresses mostly unknown to American audiences. Certainly are lost because they were uniformly brilliant. A very touching story about a couple who run the zoo in Warsaw and saved about 300 people from the Nazis. This is not a story for very young children obviously and there are many heartbreaking scenes. Older children should certainly see it so they understand how important it is to stand up for your neighbors and oppose bigotry and hatred. They need to know what the Nazis did so that it never happens again. Truly inspiring and moving. I'm really behind on my movies but I am so glad I got to see this one.

I rented this movie for a project. The rental stated that it would be good for 30 days until watched a second time but the website cut out and wouldn't play the movie ( I had only gotten about 45 minutes in) so I had to open the movie back up. The website counted this as the second time for some reason even though it was not my fault the website stopped playing it. When I opened it again it said I only had 24 hrs left to watch it ( it says 2 day after the second viewing). Keeping in mind I had not even gotten through a third of the movie and had to go back in and find stuff which I now cannot do because it didn't even give me the full 24 hrs???? I payed $6 for a movie that wouldn't play and that I couldn't even finish because of the crappy website. I would LOVE to get my money back because as you can see this was a complete waste. Terrible service will not be purchasing a movie through Google Play again considering I now have to either rent it again just to be able to finish it and watch my given amount of times or buy a copy. Terrible terrible terrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
