The Young Victoria

This movie does what so many romance movies, fiction or nonfiction, fail to even consider. Is this a beautiful movie in terms of cinematography and design alone? Yes. Does every actor and actress in this movie absolutely dominate their role? Absolutely. But what really makes this film stand out is the importance it places on the undying nature of love. So often the story ends with the couple getting married, they kiss, they live happily-ever-after, etc. The Young Victoria refuses to end there, however. Instead, it takes the story further than that, acknowledging the beauty of being a newly-wed only to slowly let the glow fade and demonstrate how true love endures and grows through the hard times that accompany sharing one's life with someone. For this reason it is not only arguably one of the most engaging family-friendly love stories in film, but also a beautiful model of what a life-long love is meant to be.

I enjoyed the honesty and the humanity in this portrayal of Victoria and Albert's lives. Showing the love that grew, the errors in judgment, their passion to improve their kingdom and their resilience were balanced well in this film. The actors brought that honesty and humanity to life.. I had already watched the film about her final days titled "Victoria and Abdul" Now seeing this film, I have a better sense of what brought her to where she was by 81. Altogether "The Young Victoria" was an excellent historical drama and it left me eager to learn more

I love this movie and Im glad I watched it . I never new there descendents eventually ruled almost all of Europe . Its remarkable when you think about it . I feel bad that Albert was unable to help his fellow Belgians . But Its really beautiful, this movie. I wish there were more like it . .
