About this movie

In this powerful 19th century romance set in the American Northeast, Abigail (Waterson), a farmer's wife, and her new neighbor Tallie (Kirby) find themselves irrevocably drawn to each other. A grieving Abigail tends to her withdrawn husband Dyer (Affleck) as free spirit Tallie bristles at the jealous control of her husband Finney (Abbott). Together, their intimacy begins to fill a void in each other's lives they never knew existed.

It's a well-acted, well-directed and well-written film. Every aspect of this film is masterful, the score, set design, custom design, etc. It's a film that you want to revisit many times and each time you will find out something new. It's not just a love story, it's also a great depiction of people's hardship, especially women. Both of the lead characters are heartbreakingly strong. They are fighters and I'm in awe and touched. Their love and connection were so moving and believable that left my heart a sting afterwards. There's never a dull moment if you watch and listen carefully. I daydream about this film and all the lives before us. I simply am not over it and I'm afraid that it will take a long time.

chemistry and yearning was palpable, Katherine waterton and Vanessa Kirby did a fantastic job. The score was a perfect accompaniment and the poetic writing was so lovely. It felt true to how they used to write and talk in those days. Loved the simplicity of it and the acting was so good that it didnt feel slow or boring at all. The ending though seemed like the writers knew about the boring and unoriginal bury your gays trope and tried to soften the blow after writing just that.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. poetic, sensitive and with fabulous performances. A drama, but too deep with its code language. A film with a peculiarity, a hard and amazing job from the Director, actresses, actors and all the team. With little money and an actress who broke her ankle on the first day of recording, it is a film of heroic people who made a masterpiece. deeply movie I ever watched! So poetic,
