About this movie

Oscar-winner and madcap comic genius ROBIN WILLIAMS ("Good Will Hunting," "Patch Adams") stars in this emotionally powerful tragicomedy that follows T.S. Garp -- the most human being you'll ever meet -- a man with a penchant for writing and wrestling, who, surrounded by eccentrics and innumerable absurdities, develops his own way of coping with life and its ironies. Joel Siegel, "Good Morning America," calls this "a wonderfully made film" and The New York Times says "an impressive accomplishment." "One of the year's 10 best" (The L.A. Times). A boxoffice hit featuring an all-star supporting cast, with Oscar nominations for GLENN CLOSE ("The Paper," "Fatal Attraction") and JOHN LITHGOW ("The Pelican Brief," "Cliffhanger"). Based on the best-selling novel by John Irving ("The Hotel New Hampshire"), from famed director George Roy Hill ("The Sting," "Funny Farm"). MPAA Rating: R (c) 1982 Warner Bros. "I never needed a father!" By character t.s. garp played by Robin Williams . Raised by a single parent mother and watching this movie as it came out before I was 10 years old It touched me in so many ways and inspired me to be a loving husband, an understanding father, and a respectful son. Thank you Robin Williams you will always have a special place in my heart and with my family. When I met my wife of 21 years and found out you were her favorite actor I knew she was the right one and you were so right about all the pack-a-dillos and imperfections cause what matters is if your perfect for each other.

Off beat and wonderful. Robin Williams at his best! I have always said this was one of my all time favorite movies even before Robin's tragic death. It just makes you realize that depression can happen to anyone ...even one the funniest, most talented people in the world. Depression is a serious and most times chronic DISEASE....NOT A WEAKNESS in a person. I hope he found some peace now. May God rest his soul and allow him refuge from everything he struggled with in this world. Some religions state that sui

My mom had me watch this years ago and to this day, it is still one of my all-time favorites! It's nice seeing such a great comedian being able to play such a versatile character. Robin Williams will truly be missed!!
