About this movie

In 1905, a tsunami devastates a small mountain town. Scientists know it will happen again - it's only a matter of when. Present day - as one man prepares to move from his hometown with his family, his worst nightmare is about to come true. The siren goes off and the disaster is inevitable. With less than 10 minutes to react, it becomes a race against time in order to save as many as possible including his own family. The Wave is one of the most impressive and heart-stopping disaster films in years, with spectacular action sequences that grip you from start to finish.

Fairly predictable disaster flick only set in Norway with English subtitles. Scientist believes there's going to be a major disaster but no-one believes him. Disaster unfurls and he and his family are all split up having their own battles for survival. Kind of The Impossible meets Dantes Peak on a low budget and in Norwegian.

Felt it in my gut, maybe because I use to live in a Tsunami threat area. The relief I feel now to no longer live under that threat is undescribable. This movie reminded me of "The Impossible", how quickly life can be turned around and upside down in an instant. You really 'feel' both movies.

Good on the Scandinavians...I really enjoyed this Norwegian movie...Wasn't stupidly long either.. Paced quite well..better than your usual Hollywood stuff because this felt raw and true...the scenario is afterall
