An impressive film with a straight-forward plot, colorful characters, incredible action, and suprising comedy. The film almost feels a parody of other Asian martial arts films, but this doesn't prevent the action from being thrilling. The characters can occasionally be over-the-top, particularly Kate Bosworth's thick accent in this film, but when the setting puts the lead in the middle of a literal circus act, none of this feels too out of the ordinary. There are some slight issues with slow pacing, but a relatively patient viewer will be treated to a fantastic film overall.

This movie had a good mix of action, dialog and humor. It's exactly what it claims to be - kind of campy, a traditional western romp with an Asian twist and very interesting cinematography. The contrasts between the ninja and western bad guys was noteworthy. Geoffrey Rush and Ti Lung add some depth here. All-in-all, fun to watch.

I actually bought this movie and I'm disappointed in that decision now... The preview was misleading. I was going for something more as an action/drama and this was more like an action/goofy sci-fi. The characters and locations were oddly coupled together. Some people love this stuff, me not so much. I will say a lot of was pretty good bit the remainder was cheap special effects and odd cut scenes.
