About this movie

An official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, writer/director Michael O’Shea’s debut feature The Transfiguration follows troubled teen Milo who hides behind his fascination with vampire lore. When he meets the equally alienated Sophie, the two form a bond that begins to challenge Milo’s dark obsession, blurring his fantasy into reality. A chilling portrait of violence, The Transfiguration is an atmospheric thriller set against the grit of New York City.

I enjoyed this movie, I went in with little expectations. I guess I felt like I was sharing time with them, like the story, you never know who you are hanging out with, no great highs or lows, but it kept a steady pace and kept me interested in them. Everyone has a dark side, but no one usually knows just how dark some people go, if your lucky you never find out, and if your not, too late it's pitch black, and that's the last thing you didn't get to see.

I liked this movie. It's definitely unique. I would say go ahead and rent it. It's a pretty twisted little film. Better than most of the options for new horror movies right now. It's not your typical horror movie that's been done a thousand times.

Fantastic film that touches upon mental illness and gang violence within the Black community. Not much of a horror then it is a thriller.
