About this movie

Based on a true story, Academy Award® nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo stars in the heroic role of Zahra, an Iranian woman with a burning secret. When a journalist (Jim Caviezel) is stranded in her remote village, Zahra takes a bold chance to reveal what the villagers will stop at nothing to hide. Thus begins the story of Soraya (Mozhan Marnò), a kind woman whose cruel, divorce-seeking husband trumps up false charges of infidelity against her, which carry an unimaginable penalty. Soraya and Zahra attempt to navigate the villagers' scheming, lies and deceit to prove her innocence. But when all else fails, Zahra must risk everything to use the only weapon she has left -- her voice -- to share Soraya's shocking story with the world.

I think this is one of the best drama movies I have seen. the story makes me wonder why a God of love would let these type of rules be part of his holy word THE BIBLE. its a very strong movie.

This is one of the best drama films I have ever seen! Heartfelt and sorrow along with cruel and inhumane practices! Oh the tangled webs people can weave and all in vain! When it's all said and done who's the real evil lurking among man kind? Grab a box of tissues, you're going to need them to get through this true story!

One of the best dramatic portrayals of women's rights and the battles women endure so that other women won't share the same fate. Truly an inspiring film. Must buy not rent!
