About this movie

Above shadowy, crime-infested streets a masked avenger watches. Denny Colt (Gabriel Macht) was Central City's finest until a gangster's bullet ended his life. Now fate has brought him back from the beyond as The Spirit, a street-hardened hero who faces off against seductive foes like the voluptuous Sand Saref (Eva Mendes) or the alluring Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson) in this graphic action-thriller.

This is just a terrible movie. Miller has no idea what he is doing as a director, the talented cast flails with no direction and stomps around like kids in a high school play, and worst of all the movie is a total disservice to Eisner's hero, who Miller doesn't appear to understand at all. This is NOT the Spirit, this is Sin City Superhero, and if that sounds good, brother, it ain't! Instead of watching this, light some money on fire and smash yourself in the face until you can't remember the last 2 hours. 100% forgettable, awful garbage.

I generally love Frank Miller but I do not know what he was doing directing this movie. It is The Spirit meets Sin City. Both are great on their own. Together not so much. If you want to see a good modern take on The Spirit I would recommend Darwin Cooke's The Spirit book from DC that came out a few years ago. That book was fun, unlike this movie.

What can anyone say but "it was awful, just awful"? I remember my dad buying this like 10+ years ago, we both liked Sin City, we had thoughts that this could be good. Yeah, we were so wrong.
