This is a film that explores self definition and coming of age in a way that resonates with a viewer from every stage of life. The characters push at their bounds from the moment they enter view and so elegantly define and distinguish themselves throughout that the film shines despite a lack of a central or very linear plot mechanic. Though it would have done well enough without to be enjoyable, the presence of a very impressive amount of sharp dialogue transforms the film from entertainment to art.

A total heart-throb of a film. From opening to closing it feels as if you're just one of the No-Name-Town's many inconspicuous and humanizing adolescents just like Sutter or Ricky or Cassidy or Aimee. A coming of age drama in the truest sense. Raw, butterfly-enducingly vivid, goosebump-stimulatingly shocking at times, and beautiful as life itself, this film will blow away anyone who has ever thought about true love...

I loved this film. It was sweet and sad and oh so real. I really appreciated the fact that they made them go with bare makeup free faces and in regular everyday clothes. And so often with these smart coming of age teen films they overdo the vocabulary, which is great and all but not realistic. But in this movie it felt like the dialogue was pretty spot on for teenage life at the turn of the technology age(no tots aborbs, thot, or twerk to be heard). Just an overall great coming of age film!
