Bittersweet and life affirming, The Skeleton Twins features fantastic performances. It is enjoyable, smart and funny. Kristen Wiig didn't do anything new here but what she did do was fine tune her quintesentially awkward character and the gent who plays her brother deft avoided playing a cliche serious of gay stereotypes and instead delivered a fully developed three dimensiinal charcter who happened to be gay.

I don't know if I could categorize it as a comedy because it was sparsely funny. It was well done, the music and lighting were beautiful. The acting was well done and you could feel the chemistry between the main characters as good friends but the plot suffered because the overarching theme of meaninglessness and characters that were far too self centered and false to themselves. It left me feeling, bad ,which may have been its intention from the onset. I would not recommend this movie.

I'm sure its a great movie but it just started out way too boring so I bailed after 30 minutes. I love Kristin Wigg and Hader but they play some real sad sacks in this drama
