On par with the book. Superb acting, directing, & chemistry between the actors brought Thomas Harris book to life. Anthony Hopkins is a great actor & there are many movies I've watched but don't see the reviews like the Hannibal series. I can't end with giving credit to Jodie Foster. Perfect in everything she does. I mean that faux accent had me going bc I actually thought it was her! She's just that good, You will enjoy the Hannibal series Fyi, if you haven't read the book, please do

one of my top five's. This is such a good film. Excellent all round performances from the entire cast. Jodie foster and ted levine ( buffalo Bill) are very convincing but for me Anthony Hopkins as lector is absolutely terrific and terrifying. He oozes a twisted charisma and in what is a glorified cameo ( 17 mins screen time) he gives what is arguably the best performance in a villainous role i have seen.

Horrifying, chilling, disturbing classic horror film. There are some very sick, twisted, perverted people who exist in this world, and this movie serves as an entertaining eye-opener to this. Highly acclaimed and recommended, but make sure that you are ready. The drama aspect of the film is quite heavy and does not ever really seem to go away. Viewer discretion is strongly advised.
