The Rocky Horror Picture Show

This is by far the weirdest and strangest movie I have ever seen. The story does not have any meaning, it was just made for fun and for the sake of being strange. And for me, this is a film that only the high level of IQ will truly understand. Did I have fun though? Yes I did. It's comedy is very slick and amusing. As a musical, it is dazzling and colorful for my ears with very fun songs throughout the whole soundtrack. It starts out with Brad and Janet singing a love song for Janet and when they came across the Frankenstein place. These songs sang by the couple were a lot of fun with wonderful singing and beautiful harmonies. But, when we enter the Frankenstein place and stay there, the soundtrack becomes wildly electrifying and power-driven with glam rock and rock-n-roll; songs including "Time-warp" and "Sweet Transvestite". The soundtrack of the film does manage to occasionally settle down just for a bit. I enjoyed the characters because they are all just plain kooky and campy and that contributes the strange fun, not to mention that the costumes that the cast are wearing really adds heavy gravity to sheer camp. Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) are a dashing couple. However some of the acting by Susan Sarandon is pretty bad and awkward, and sometimes as a character she is pretty whiny sometimes. Dr. Frank N Furter (Tim Curry) provides a very odd and striking presence in terms of personality and style. And as a villain he is very bizzare and wicked in an eccentric way. In conclusion: This Sci-fi musical comedy was was created with intent to be utterly weird and outrageously campy, and it's fun with a breathtaking soundtrack and whimsical characters. This film would be very fun to watch, especially when you are in the mood for something utterly weird and nonsensical but in a rather appealing way. Recommended.

It's a catchy Musical, it's a kitschy Sci-fi film, it's a bloody Horror film, it's a love story, it's The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And like the sexually eccentric Dr. Frank N. Furter, it wears each outfit confidently and with style. As you watch most of the main characters going on a journey of their own sexual discovery, there's also an interesting subplots of disappointment in those used in the quest for physical pleasure. Must watch Musical for those over 18 (nudity/sexual situations).

It's a very odd movie for today's time, so I can't imagine what the reaction was when it first came out. The music, in my opinion, is amazing. I even knew a few of the songs before watching. Acting is a bit silly but that's to be expected in older films. Overall pretty good but definitely wacky.
