What a great film. Leonardo's best performance yet in so many ways. Tom Hardy as well delivered a great performance worthy of an oscar as well. Beautifully shot the film has a rawness to it and you really are taken on the journey witnessing the heartbreak, the pain and insurmountable challenges. Some of the shots I don't know how they did particularly the bear scene which was shocking and dramatic at the same time. In terms of being gory, then I'd say no more than watching an episode of bear grylls. What this film shows is a sense of realism yet the film is also riveting in so many different ways. The twists and turns are cleverly done. In short this film is one of the best films of 2016. If you rate this film anything less than 3 stars then you have no idea what a good movie should be. This is a must watch film that doesn't disappoint.

Gripping 'Struggle for Life' Drama! I proved myself wrong when I thought I knew after 10 minutes if a movie is interesting and worth watching. In the case of 'The Revenant', at first it's easy to get somewhat bored or distracted and switch off as there are some subtitles and it's slow to get started but one needs to give it at least 20+ minutes before it suddenly becomes intriguing, action packed and an extreme struggle for survival in the most unimaginable harshest of conditions. Excellent acting from Leonardo DiCaprio and real edge of the seat stuff once you give it chance to roll. I would recommend renting though, as it's a movie once watched, you've seen it and although brilliant, it's not the kind of movie that could be repeatedly watched, especially as it's 156 minutes long. Thanks to Google Play, I took advantage of a rental special offer and it was worth every penny. Definitely worth watching.

Bloody and full of violence and you can feel the pain that a hardened man (Di Caprio) is going through his acting. I still think he should have won an Oscar for other movies rather than this. Good movie overall.
