About this movie

Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, they find themselves stranded on the 6th floor with no way out. The unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission. © 2012 PT.Merantau Films. All Rights Reserved.

This movie lived up to the hype for me. It was fun and exciting. The any action movie the fighting may at some point seem to be too much for some but not for others. I can't believe this was released in early 2012..this and Dredd definitely set the tone for every action-shooting movie that followed a couple years later. I'm looking forward to checking out The Raid 2

I really like this movie! I'm not kidding when I say that this is one of the most action heavy movie of the past decade! The action seriously never stops until the end. Start from finish, it keeps you on the edge of your seat. That's where my one issue comes into play. The movie lacks character depth for every character in the movie except for the main guy (Rama). But even his back story is bland as hell! He's a cop who has a wife that is pregnant. That story's been told a thousand times at this point! (B+)

Fantastic movie with a realistic and great storyline. The choreography in this movie is off the charts! I had grown tired of movies with "action" sequences that consisted of CGI and crappy ridiculous choreography. It's also nice to see the realism of conflict. How people kill one another as if nothing and how far people will fall into crime. How corruption, greed, drugs, murder, gangs, crooked cops etc are real life problems. It's nice to see a movie that is realistic and expresses the world honestly.
