About this movie

If you could commit any crime without consequences, what would you do? From the producer of Paranormal Activity and Sinister, comes an inventive thriller that dares you to survive the most dangerous night in America - The Purge - when all crime is legal for 12 hours. When an intruder breaks into James Sandin's (Ethan Hawke) gated community during the yearly lockdown, he begins a sequence of events that threatens to tear a family apart. Now, it is up to James, his wife, Mary (Lena Headey), and their kids to make it through the night without turning into the monsters from whom they hide.

A night free from consequences would see a lot of theft and vandalism. The murders and violence taking place would be against, abusers, killers, and child rapists. The idea that the world is full of psycho killers just waiting for the chance to hack random people is a bit much for my view of reality. I had to assume a lot to make the movie plausible . I would like to see the idea done right. Its an interesting premise. Also, the family made too many stupid choices to be believable.

Some of The scenes are dumb. Honestly you can tell it's straight out of Hollywood. Like the asshole father who currently is a security inventor who didn't bother to train his family. Who didn't go after his daughter when the boyfriend shot at him. The daughter who runs away through out the house by herself? Shit dumb. Especially when him and his wife split up throughout the dark house. You can tell she's got no training. If He comes out the door way. *bang bang* he's gone. No strategies either. Shit dumb

Any average citizen in Arizona would be able to repel the "scary" invaders portrayed in this movie. The idiot family is only outshined by the idiocy of the murderers. I kept thinking to myself while watching this movie, "wow... It must be horrible to live in CA and feel so castrated by the government so that you can't even defend yourself." This movie is for sheep and the oblivious...which I guess are one in the same.
