This two and a half hour movie is emotionally intense and is based on the true story of a Jewish pianist who witnessed life in the Warsaw Ghetto prior to being smuggled into hiding by trusted allies. This film also shows its views powerful glimpses of the Warsaw uprising. Several times, I wanted to cry but I couldn't find the strength to. The sets, the acting and the visual effects were very realistic looking. Moreover, Adrian Brody, who plays Szpilman, won an academy award for best actor in his roll and rightfully. The only disapproval is the director failed to do a little more research on what happened to his family after the Warsaw Ghetto was liquidated.

It is my favorite movie of all time unless I go into kids movies and holiday movies. This is about as real as it comes and so well played out. It's a have to watch

This movie was almost more than I could take, but how could I not watch the survival of dignity and character undaunted, brave to the end and further!
