After 30 minutes I could watch no more... the movie was quickly turning into a kids' super hero movie. It reached an early climax when Benjamin Martin's (Gibson), with the help of his two young boys (ages 6-10?), ambush a British unit marching through the woods. During the ambush the British look like bumbling fools who can't shoot, while Martin and his boys can't miss. Martin soon engages in hand to hand combat. The fight scene was ridiculously unbelievable. Martin takes on 3-4 Red Coats at a time and finds a way to kill each one. This is an action movie for adolescents and not a historical drama.

The movie was absolutely amazing I loved the whole movie start to finnish. I think that everyone did an amazing job and it did show how the Revolutionary War was. There was romance, adventure, and a little comedy so there was a little something for everyone. But I would rate this movie a 10 and if your into war or history movies I think you will love this as much as I did. 😀😀

I saw this movie in the theatre fifteen years ago. It's message and presentation have endured well my opinion. This is one of Mel Gibson's finest pieces of work. Heath Ledger and Lisa Brenner both give wonderful performances. I wish Mel was still making films like this.
