Apparently it's not well known here that the author of the book this film is based on (and a consultant to the movie) is Jake Tapper from CNN. Harrowing, gritty, and vividly real, Tapper nailed the depiction of life and strife for these brave men and it translated great to the screen. I took a star off because Eastwood's acting, while adequate and understated by design, seemed like a weak point compared to the rest of the cast. Still, he's a young actor and will get better and was fine here.

Far better than I expected. Truly have to admire the conditions and hardships our troops endure. You only have each other, often against unbelievable odds. Thank goodness for air support otherwise we would lose more precious men at arms. I enjoyed the credit roll with interview footage. Great film. Thank you. This is a movie based on real accounts and events. The real events lead to many medals and 2 medal of honor winners who survived. Amazing especially to remember for memorial day. RIP to those who gave their lives, we should all remember them.

Every American should watch this movie. 5 star rental and if you don't want to pay its on Hulu and Netflix now. Watch it. To those who bitched in some of the comments --> Do yourself a favor. Grow up and drive yourself down to the recruiting station and enlist. To those who can't. Take a step back and think about your freedoms and read history. Not the edited version translated to make you feel comfortable and happy. Go thank a veteran for his service.
