(Which. it. ISN'T) I read this book series(Malek)... how is this adapted from that? The books are always better than the movies, but not to such a massive scale as this one. -The acting. OK, like, i understand the whole thing with using relatively unknown actors, fresh faces and all that. But this books has been reviewed as one of the best, it has been published into over 50 different languages, and has a dedicated fanbase. I think they could have at least spent some more time making sure the actors could ACT. THE. PART. I've heard Lily collins has been in some other, better films. But in this she seems bland and unconvincing. Don't even get me started on Jamie campbell bower (Jace) or whoever the people are that play Alec and isabelle. Because oh my god i CANNOT HANDLE IT! they were such good characters and they just butchered it. -differences. OK, so give a fangirl a movie adaptation from their favourite books and they will pick out the most minor changes, but we accept it. in the case that they were NECESSARY! I have so many issues with this but it won't fit in this paragraph, never watch this movie. Read the book.

But this was one. Derivative. Predictable. Maybe it got better mid way, but by 20min, I simply list all interest in the story and the characters. I have seen worse supernatural teen movies (cough!) but that would not be hard.

I went into this thinking it was going to be just another Twilight or Vampire Academy, but I was pleasantly surprised. The acting was good and story well writen and directored. I haven't read the books, so I can't comment in that side of things. All in all was a bit of fun to watch.
