About this movie

Oscar-winner Tom Hanks (Captain Phillips) stars with Shelley Long (TV's Modern Family) in this hilarious comedy from executive producer Steven Spielberg. Walter (Tom Hanks) and Anna (Shelley Long) believe they've arrived "home sweet home" when they buy the house of their dreams. But life quickly becomes a nightmare as their dilapidated mansion falls apart around them, and they struggle to stay together even as they slide further into The Money Pit. It's outrageous entertainment for anyone who's ever been deeply in love... or deeply in debt... or both! (Original Title - The Money Pit)

3 and a half. This gets to be quite a funny film but then bogs itself down with a story where the comedy just goes away, and the film gets dragged from what it's supposed to be. However some of the set, the way it fell apart for the film, was great. Also there's mention of a pool but we don't see it at all, so we don't get to see a pool get torn apart like the house in the film. I can relate to the at least pool mention. If only there was more. And if only the whole movie was funny.

I saw this movie when I was a kid and the part where Tom Hanks Walter was falling down the construction scaffolding I was laughing so hard I had tears running out of my eyes! "Two weeks, two weeks, you sound like a parakeet when you say it like that!"

So hilarious ever clip or scene. Leaves tears in my eyes and me gasping for breath from laughing so much. I can watch this movie everyday and never tire from it.
