About this movie

From legendary director Ridley Scott (Alien, Prometheus) comes a gripping tale of human strength and the will to survive. During a mission to Mars, American astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead and left behind. But Watney is still alive. Against all odds, he must find a way to contact Earth in the hope that scientists can devise a rescue plan to bring him home.

Looks like they wanted to cash in on Interstellar and Gravity's success, but did a bad job of it. For the first time, Matt Damon disappoints, especially with trying to be overly witty. Most hyped movie of 2015, you can watch it once, only to feel let down. Looks like Ridley Scott needs to get back to direction school!

This movie is a mixture of Gravity and Interstellar. Among these Interstellar is the best film as I consider. Don't listen to Critics listen to audiences, Rotten Tomatoes gives Gravity 97% The Martian 93% but Interstellar 72% funny. In IMDB Interstellar roped 10th place in Top 250 of all time at initial release. Later it garned No 1 in Top 10 movies of 2014

It would have been better, if the movie said a story about the human colonization of the red planet, all the terraforming of Mars to make it habitable, editing of human genome using tools like CRISPR/cas9 to make human body adaptable to hostile environment, other technological advances that makes interplanetary travel possible(rocket science, space elevator, private companies ), great minds like Elon Musk etc....
