splendid acting, great historical costume detail, although the colors were a bit more muted than the bright colors used in the actual time period. Also, the earl of Rochester probably died of Bright's disease from his excessive drinking and while he had the pox, there is no evidence of him losing his nose to it. In fact given his mental acuity until the end it is likely that he suffered secondary, and possibly some tertiary symptoms of the pox but not dementia and not facial deformation.

A great period piece, and a massively underrated film. Depp delivers a great performance, along with the rest of the cast. The story is compelling, unrelenting, and deep... A must watch in my opinion.

Too drawn out and morbid. Really quite disappointed
