The Legend of Bagger Vance

This movie is an adaptation of the novel by Stephen Pressfield, which is an adaptation of the Hindu story, Bhagavad Gita. It is an amazing story about life and overcoming challenges to be your "authentic" self. Based around the sport of golf and set in Savannah Georgia, there is so much to love about this movie. The cinematography is fantastic and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. The characters are original and endearing. There's never a lull in the movie, holding your attention from beginning to end.

To this day, I have still yet to see any other movie in comparison to this one. Its sense of struggle(both personal and communal)/acceptance(of self and situation)/ and achievment (of self and more); founded by such moral codes, ethics and behavior. I Believe it to be a great movie that should live in through the ages as an example of life. I watched it when I was 6 and I loved it, twenty years later it still brings me hope, understanding, and moral guide..."we can stop or we can can start"

As I was watching the movie, it definitely had the historic feel with the costumes and the way the characters would speak to one another in the south. The part I find my noteworthy was the part of Bagger Vance, he showed Capt. Junah the way to get his "authentic swing" back and with that he got Rannulph's life back in order. The character Bagger Vance reminds be of God and he always spoke words of wisdom to Capt. Junah, telling him stories to try and teach him the game as well to teach him how to become more humble. He needed to be more open to the world. The war that, Junah, was in was obviously, WWI, because of the date but because Junah did come back from the war it changed him into a man who hated life and wanted to be left alone. Live in a place where no one would care or even wonder about him, but the Exhibition Match definitely spiked his interest. If not for Savannah Georgia's community, Junah would be on the run. But because the expressed love and compassion to the man he stayed and played for the community and to get himself back to normal. Overall, I loved the movie, Hardy Greaves also did a tremendous job, Loved the move so much it and inspired me. A+
