I wanted like it but it was so hamfisted with the silly lines that I almost want to say they didn't take being over the top action seriously enough. For a lesson in how to do this style of movie right, compare this to John Wick. I thought the silly CGI was one of the movie's strong points, but the character motivations seemed to be muddled. It needed a "This time it's personal" kind of push that seemed to be lacking for a good "dumb action" movie.

I like this movie for many reasons: Vin, Michael, Elijah, set in NYC, etc. I get why some have wished this story could have been fleshed out more. I too felt that about a few areas but, I still liked the characters and much of the story line. I'm not into horror but this had just enough scary and action plus fantasy for me to purchase. Enjoy!

I saw this in the theater, and while I was entertained, I left the theater thinking it wasn't really good. It was like they weren't sure where they were going with the story. The acting was fine, the dialogue was good for a modern fantasy, but the story needed to be fleshed out a bit more. It might be worth watching if you had some interest after watching the trailer, but keep your expectations low.
