About this movie

Set in Japan during the 1870s, THE LAST SAMURAI tells the story of Capt. Nathan Algren (TOM CRUISE), a respected American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country's first army in the art of modern warfare. As the Emperor attempts to eradicate the ancient Imperial Samurai warriors in preparation for more Westernized and trade-friendly government policies, Algren finds himself unexpectedly impressed and influenced by his encounters with the Samurai, which places him at the center of a struggle between two eras and two worlds, with only his own sense of honor to guide him. The whole job was neatly done. Excellent performance by both Tom & Kevin. Direction is superb. I will not forget the elder son of Nobusan for sometime. The sword works were thrilling. ЁЯСНЁЯМ╣ЁЯМ║ЁЯЗоЁЯЗ│

Great story based on a true story in fact (but there were some twist but doesn't matter) never fails to make me weep in the end ( 2nd battle was between 10000 imperial soldiers vs 800 samurais epic battle) but I sometimes think what a jerk their emperor is to replace their old traditions over european and american influence cause there are many ways of developing and modernizing without doing what he did But again it might be hard cause some of the samurais did no embrace the new ways
