Actually ACTRESS/SINGER POP ICON DIANA ROSS MADE A REMAKE of this Movie for her song (#1 DANCE HIT) 'EATEN ALIVE' (1985) THEY USED THE SAME STUDIO SET LOCATION AS IN THE 1977 MOVIE. the Video was Nomationed for BEST Video by a FEMALE ARTIST , AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS..

I've seen this film a handful of times throughout the years and I find it unique and very disturbing. The actors, all competent, play second banana to the unsettling, scientific freakshow on this Island. Stan Winston Studio's man-animal beasts are grotesque and off putting. The jungle/island photography is beautiful as is co-star Fairuza Bulk as the mysterious daughter of Dr. Moreau. While a solid, Hollywood Sci-fi production, this might be too much for some viewers, "Cronenbergian" for sure👍😉

Sorry guys, but the version with Michael York and Burt Lancaster as Dr. Moreau my favorite, and more eerily true to original H.G.WELLS. The Drs. sexy hot wife was worth the risk!
