If people say this is the best movie they ever saw then they needed to see more movies. It's OK.. One of those you watch when nothing else is on. The whole intern premise is really lost in the first 20 minutes as he becomes a chauffeur instead. Felt like they weren't sure if they should commit this to be a comedy or drama and ended up missing on both counts. That might explain why the ending is just awkward.. Like they hit a time limit and just said that's it, go home now.

It was a good movie for a lazy cold afternoon by the fire with my wife. We enjoyed it, but it is not a masterpiece. At times, the movie does indeed turn into almost theatrical monologues, most subplots are left unresolved, and the cinematography is just not there (like the weird bathroom scene). I believe that labeling it as comedy is misleading as the last 1/4 of the movie is pretty serious. Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway do a great job, it is pretty relaxing, and you will have a great time, BUT it could have been so much more.

This was a very sweet movie. There were certainly sections that were a bit unrealistic, but it also delved into more nuanced subjects than I expected. Hathaway can overact and get preachy in roles, but she seemed relaxed in this film. De Niro and Hathaway had a comfortable chemistry on the screen. This isn't something you'll watch over and over, but it's also not something you'll regret watching once. Definitely worth getting.
