Reasonably well acted and cast, allowing me to finish the movie in its entirety, but definitely more than a little far-fetched. I get that a lot of aspects of criminal enterprise are often slow to show in movies, but montage would have been a believable enough way to portray a number of these elements that The Informers stretches to the limits. I found myself questioning more than believing and personally I found the grand, climatic solution of the protagonist to be laughably over-the-top. If you're on the fence, wait for it to hit Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon. Not worth spending the money.

It is clear why Joel Kinnamen jumps from one engagement to the next, staying with one series only for season to keep himself available for another or a movie. He is clearly aware that he is having his heyday and that offers of quality work, for now, will continue to pour in. This movie is an example. Really a very good movie which, while probably billed as an "action" movie, isn't. It's an intelligent movie about the struggle of a decent man, perceived as sullied or tainted through a series of unfortunate circumstances to keep his head above water, protect his family, and retain his dignity. I've never seen the young actress who plays his wife before, but boy is she pretty. ;-)

Solid story of corruption within the FBI and the line one man takes to keep his family safe. Some parts you feel this happens in real life to people who want to turn state witness. They end it with the hopes he could see his family again but in time. After all the investigation doesn't close automatically and it leaves open the idea of a second movie too.
