About this movie

Academy Award® nominee Edward Norton stars as scientist Bruce Banner, a man who has been living in shadows, scouring the planet for an antidote to the unbridled force of rage within him: The Hulk. But when the military masterminds who dream of exploiting his powers force him back to civilization, he finds himself coming face to face with his most formidable foe: the Abomination - a nightmarish beast of pure aggression whose powers match the Hulk's own! Also starring Liv Tyler, Oscar® nominee Tim Roth, and Oscar® winner William Hurt, The Incredible Hulk is "steeped in action and spectacular special effects" (Claudia Puig, USA TODAY) and delivers a mind-blowing final showdown that can only be summed up with one word...INCREDIBLE!

I REALLY want to give this 5 stars, but MARVEL cut out the heart of NORTON's story in the deleted scenes (watch those for a much more enjoyable take on this film) Plus, you can't see the HULK in his 1st HULK-OUT! Which is extremely frustrating. However, both EDWARD NORTON & LIV TYLER give flawless performances. LOU FERRIGNO was not only in, but voiced THE INCREDIBLE HULK! So cool. HURT, ROTH, NELSON, BURRELL & SOLES all deliver excellent performances. CRAIG ARMSTRONG composes a great soundtrack!

This movie tries way too hard to make up for the perhaps overly serious nature of the unfortunately vilified Ang Lee version by make everything a joke, and bad one at that. Norton is miscast and everyone else is just flat out bad, and these are easily the worst Hulk effects ever (and that includes the '70's TV series.). This is the black sheep of the MARVEL STUDIOS family, and deservedly so.

Norton is good but after his initial character development the movie is basically trash. Ok - the main character has power because XXX. Let's give the SAME power to the antagonist who is an incidental character with little back story and then have them fight, only the main character wins because he has heart. A 2nd grade playwright could do better. The CGI and acting aren't bad. Neither is the direction. It's the story that is sadly deficient and drags everything down into a yawnfest.
