About this movie

From Summit Entertainment. A powerful story based on one family's survival of the 2004 tsunami, THE IMPOSSIBLE stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor and is directed by J.A. Bayona (THE ORPHANAGE). Maria (Naomi Watts), Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her. Based on a true story, THE IMPOSSIBLE is the unforgettable account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time. But the true-life terror is tempered by the unexpected displays of compassion, courage and simple kindness that Maria and her family encounter during the darkest hours of their lives. Both epic and intimate, devastating and uplifting, THE IMPOSSIBLE is a journey to the core of the human heart. 2012 Apaches Entertainment; Canal+ Espana. All Rights Reserved.

This emotion in this film is indescribable, the acting is impeccable, the cinematography is on point. Everything about this film is beautiful and packed full of emotion. The pain that you feel for all the families who were lost and the joy you are filled with when people are reunited is just amazing. One of my favourite movies ever. Such an amazing rollercoaster full of emotion. I highly suggest anyone to watch it, though I do warn you that there is some blood in case anyone doesn't like that kind of thing, aside from that this film is indescribable. This movie is highly underrated and I wish it had the attention that it deserved. Incredible, I loved it!

This is the rude awakening of all rude awakenings. When I saw the trailer I thought this would be another Castaway but I was mistaken. We've all seen the footage of this horrific natural disaster but this movie captures just how quickly the tsunami came. The imagery in The Impossible is gut wrenchingly honest. The film has been produced well and nothing feels cheap about it and all performances were great. The Impossible is a great film which captured this astonishing story. Ultimately this film will make you feel grateful for all that you have.
