Such a bad remake of a great film. No attempt to be original, pretty much a scene by scene rip off. The problem is the film it ripped off - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels - is a classic comedy film. Which makes it nearly impossible to better. I would love to give this film 0 stars as that's what it deserves. None of the characters are an improvement on the originals. Thankfully, unlike the original, this film is instantly forgettable. If you have not seen this film or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, I suggest you go watch the latter. You'll thank me later. As a footnote, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was actually a remake of Bedtime Story from the 60s, but here's the thing. It was a massive improvement. This version was a step back.

I think it's apparent that a lot of people watching this are not old enough to remember "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". It's almost a frame by frame copy of that movie, and I swear that I didn't think it was going to be that way. The problem is that "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" was original and funny and while this had a couple of moments, I knew exactly what was coming, so it was just a matter of watching how the ripped off the original. It's just a good thing that there were two well-known actors pulling off the movie because, otherwise, there wouldn't have been much to support the cost of the rental.

Just watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, unless Rebel Wilson is your thing, then you might enjoy it. I have absolutely nothing against the idea of remakes, vehicles etc etc... but this just didn't do it for me. I also found the lovely Anne Hathaway's accent not quite on the button.
