Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. I'm not really a Hunger Games fan and haven't read the books either, but this film was ok. But it took ages when the games begin in the middle of the movie. Shaky camera was a disappointment during the action sequence but I can understand why because the kids were involved in that deadly games. Although the acting and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss were the only highlights for me.

There can only be one winner and that winner is......Me, for going to sleep halfway through the movie. It's all been done before by better actors and better writers. Actually the actors are kids and it really shows. Quite boring and a load of trash. I cant believe I wasted 1.4 gig on this junk and it would have been more if I watched it all. 2 stars for the scenery. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Jennifer Laurence was very good as was a lot of the supporting cast but it just didn't explain the context well and basically had Battle Royal with rose coloured glasses on which was just odd. Sequels are better.
