About this movie

When the chilly chef proprietress of a Michelin starred French restaurant in southern France gets wind of a culinary immigrant opening an Indian restaurant just 100 feet from her own, her protests escalate to all-out war between the two establishments. It’s a celebration of triumph over exile as these two worlds collide and one young man tries to find the comfort of home in every pot — wherever he may be.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this film. Helen Mirran does an excellent job playing her character as do the others. Several themes present throughout including relationships, family, foodie, professional rivalry and romance. Its quite an inspirational story of the journey of one man battling the odds in a difficult world but where real talent eventually shines through to come out to the top. A movie for all ages

I think that this would rank at about 6/10 as the plot was rather predictable and cheesy. However, it had some good ideas, but I expected more 'spice' in it.

A beautiful story of struggle and success. Light-hearted, inspiring, especially if you like food or cooking! A recommended watch for almost all circumstances. I did not enjoy the last 30 minutes, I felt the plot deteriorated unnecessarily.
