First half wasn't too onerous but, lord, did it ever slide off the cliff soon after that and then sank deep into one of the silliest endings imaginable. Some of the cast are known big names so they must have lost a really big bet to end up having to be in this really embarrassing turkey. Invading aliens who wipe out humanity are really the peace loving pacifist good guys who are wronged by the evil Americans. Really?!

I'm one of those people who generally refuses to watch a movie that's been adapted from a book. I liked the book a lot. Not the best writing ever but I liked the underlying question of humanity. However you can't take a book like that, that's so long and turn it into a two hour movie. It was so disjointed, nothing flowed especially not the characters. Also wanderer was supposed to be stronger ... they didn't portray it right at all. I think the only thing they did get right was uncle Jeb.

If you haven't read the books, then this movie might be amazing. But when your a fan of the book like me, its a disappointment. A part i was looking forward to seeing is the walter scenes when you see how it is to deal with a person who has cancer in the caves. And what happen to sharon? If it where up to me this movie would have two parts so you can see deeply into these characters struggles.
