The Host

Despite the outdated CGI Bong Joon-Ho delivers an incredible action-horror while also mixing in hilarious comedy as always. There were certain scenes where I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry, some how feeling both emotions at once. All characters are represented with the proper depth that you would expect from a director as talented as Bong Joon-ho, with outstanding performances from Song Kang-Ho and Byun Hee-Bong particularly. Go Ah-Sung also delivers a brilliant performance considering her age at the time. The camera work is used very effectively to deliver some terrifying, edge of your seat moments. Without getting into the plot, this story contains some powerful moments on a personal and ground, and large and satirical level. Overall an amazing monster-flick that will stay relevant for a long time to come.
