About this movie

A stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as "The Hangman," will bring Domergue to justice. Along the road, they encounter two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Walton Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town's new Sheriff. Losing their lead on the blizzard, Ruth, Domergue, Warren and Mannix seek refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnie's, they are greeted not by the proprietor but by four unfamiliar faces. Bob (Demian Bichir), who's taking care of Minnie's while she's visiting her mother, is holed up with Oswaldo Mobray (Tim Roth), the hangman of Red Rock, cow-puncher Joe Gage (Michael Madsen), and Confederate General Sanford Smithers (Bruce Dern). As the storm overtakes the mountainside stopover, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all… 2015 Visiona Romantica, Inc. All rights reserved.

The Hateful Eight is one of those films you will either love or hate, there’s no middle ground here. Great cast, good acting which equals to a slow burner of a story and character build up. This sums the film up to about the last half hour, where the burners engage. I am not a big fan of the Tarantino film franchise but I’m sure a avid fan will love it. It’s a western with the usual twist and gore thrown in. Well worth a watch if you like the Tarantino style film a 3.5 out of 5 from me.

The film itself very well put together and features some very good acting. The reason I feel let down by the movie is how you do not get enough background on certain characters and they are given very little time to give you an impression of what sort a person they are before they are killed off. I was also let down by the length of the film itself I found the build up to the main events incredibly long and instead of building tension I grew bored but overall the film looks beautiful with a satisfying end

Normally brilliant films, but this is the first one I've fallen asleep watching. So slow it's unbelievable! Not his best work.
