About this movie

From the creators of You're Next comes The Guest, a pulse-pounding thriller starring Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) and Maika Monroe (Labor Day). Recently discharged from the Army, David Collins (Stevens) unexpectedly shows up on the Petersons' doorstep, claiming to be their late son's best friend. Welcomed into their home, the well-mannered stranger becomes part of the family until a shocking wave of violence raises daughter Anna's (Monroe) suspicions that the mysterious ex-soldier is not quite what he seems. Smart and suspenseful, The Guest is an action-packed blast that critics are calling "impossibly cool." (Samuel Zimmerman, Fangoria).

I loved where this movie was going and it made me glued to the screen, yet it it came time for the final climax and action of the movie, it fell completely flat. Somehow everyone's acting turned into crap and it was very boring and almost embarrassing. Worst ending (last half hour) to a movie ever.

From the soundtrack to the story it's obvious this was meant to be an homage to movies such as The Terminator and, to an extent, slasher films. Personally I don't understand people saying they don't get the 'why' of it, all my questions were answered.

If your going to review a movie, don't spoil it by telling people spoilers. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean everyone will think the same as you. People read review BEFORE they rent or buy the movie so they can see the overall thoughts and reviews NOT to hear you blast the movie by giving away everything.
